Ingredients
  • 218.0 g Ground Turkey (substitute for lean pork)
  • 145.1 g Rice, white, long-grain, cooked
  • 50.5 g Carrot, finely diced
  • 28.4 g Raisins
  • 157.8 g Broccoli, steamed
Method
  1. 01In a mixing bowl, combine the ground turkey, finely diced carrots, raisins, and a splash of soy sauce (for seasoning).
  2. 02Form the mixture into a tight log and wrap it securely in aluminum foil, twisting the ends to ensure it holds its shape.
  3. 03Place the foil log into a steamer basket over boiling water and steam for 35-40 minutes until firm to the touch and fully cooked through.
  4. 04Meanwhile, prepare the steamed rice and broccoli.
  5. 05Once the embutido is cooked, remove from the foil and allow it to rest for 5 minutes before slicing into 1-inch thick rounds.
  6. 06Plate the slices alongside the warm rice and vibrant steamed broccoli.
  7. 07Garnish with a drizzle of sweet tomato-based sauce (traditionally used in Filipino kitchens) to tie the flavors together.
  8. 08The result is a comforting, savory-sweet balance that defines a Filipino Sunday dinner.
