Ingredients
- 23.7 g Cereals, oats, regular and quick, not fortified, dry
- 8.8 g Nuts, almonds (substitute for pili nuts to hit macro profile)
- 23.7 g Protein supplement or egg white powder (added to reach target)
Method
- 01Preheat your oven to 325 deg F (165 deg C).
- 02On a small parchment-lined baking sheet, toss the rolled oats and chopped almonds with a pinch of sea salt and a touch of water to hydrate slightly.
- 03Spread them into a thin, even layer.
- 04Bake for 10-12 minutes until the oats are toasted and fragrant, and the almonds are golden brown.
- 05Remove from the oven and while still warm, sprinkle the protein powder over the mixture, tossing gently to coat so it forms a light, sweet-savory crust.
- 06Let it cool completely on the tray, which allows the mixture to firm up into a brittle-like texture.
- 07Serve immediately as a crunchy, protein-dense snack reminiscent of traditional Filipino nut brittles.
