Ingredients
- 122.8 g mussels
- 1 tsp fresh ginger
- 1 tsp garlic
- 0.5 cup water
- 49.9 g jasmine rice
Method
- 01Thoroughly scrub and debeard the fresh mussels under cold running water, discarding any that remain open when tapped.
- 02In a small pot over medium-high heat, combine 1/2 cup water, grated ginger, and minced garlic. Bring the mixture to a gentle simmer.
- 03Add the mussels to the pot and cover tightly with a lid. Steam for 3 to 5 minutes until shells open completely and mussel meat is opaque and reaches 145°F (63°C). Discard any mussels that remain closed.
- 04Ladle the mussels and warm ginger-garlic broth into a serving bowl.
- 05Serve with a small side portion of warm steamed jasmine rice to soak up the broth.
