Ingredients
- 270.0 g Beef, brisket, flat half, boneless, trimmed
- 44.7 g Rice, white, long-grain, regular, raw
- 95.8 g SNOW PEAS, fresh
- 95.8 g TUSCAN KALE, chopped
- 25.7 g Oil, sesame, cooking
- 1.9 g Seeds, pumpkin and squash seeds, roasted
Method
- 01Slice the brisket into thin strips across the grain. Heat half the sesame oil in a heavy-bottomed pot over medium-high heat. Sear the beef until deeply browned, about 3-4 minutes.
- 02Add a splash of water and cover, braising until tender, about 20-25 minutes. If liquid evaporates, add small amounts of water to maintain moisture.
- 03While the beef braises, cook the white rice according to package instructions until light and fluffy.
- 04Add the snow peas and kale to the pot with the beef. Sauté for 3-5 minutes until the kale is vibrant green and wilted, and the peas are crisp-tender.
- 05Season generously with freshly cracked black pepper and the remaining sesame oil for a nutty finish.
- 06Serve the braised brisket mixture over a bed of warm white rice. Garnish with roasted pumpkin seeds for crunch and serve immediately while steaming hot.
