Ingredients
  • 270.0 g Beef, brisket, flat half, boneless, trimmed
  • 44.7 g Rice, white, long-grain, regular, raw
  • 95.8 g SNOW PEAS, fresh
  • 95.8 g TUSCAN KALE, chopped
  • 25.7 g Oil, sesame, cooking
  • 1.9 g Seeds, pumpkin and squash seeds, roasted
Method
  1. 01Slice the brisket into thin strips across the grain. Heat half the sesame oil in a heavy-bottomed pot over medium-high heat. Sear the beef until deeply browned, about 3-4 minutes.
  2. 02Add a splash of water and cover, braising until tender, about 20-25 minutes. If liquid evaporates, add small amounts of water to maintain moisture.
  3. 03While the beef braises, cook the white rice according to package instructions until light and fluffy.
  4. 04Add the snow peas and kale to the pot with the beef. Sauté for 3-5 minutes until the kale is vibrant green and wilted, and the peas are crisp-tender.
  5. 05Season generously with freshly cracked black pepper and the remaining sesame oil for a nutty finish.
  6. 06Serve the braised brisket mixture over a bed of warm white rice. Garnish with roasted pumpkin seeds for crunch and serve immediately while steaming hot.
