Ingredients
  • 165g Grass-fed ground beef
  • 40g Whole-wheat bread, toasted
  • 150g Onion, raw
  • 150g Spinach, raw
  • 2g Olive oil
Method
  1. 01Slice the onion into thin half-moons. Heat a small skillet over medium-low heat with half the olive oil. Add the onions, stirring occasionally until they are deeply golden, soft, and sweet, about 15 minutes. Set aside.
  2. 02Shape the ground beef into a 1-inch thick patty, indenting the center slightly with your thumb to ensure even cooking. Season generously with salt and pepper.
  3. 03Wipe the skillet clean, increase heat to medium-high, and add the remaining oil. Once the pan is shimmering, add the patty. Sear for 4-5 minutes per side for a perfect medium-well finish, until a crust forms.
  4. 04Meanwhile, toast the whole-wheat bread.
  5. 05Briefly wilt the spinach in the hot skillet juices for 30 seconds until just bright green and tender.
  6. 06Assemble the burger: Place the patty on the toasted bread, pile high with the caramelized onions, and serve the wilted spinach alongside to complete the plate.
