Ingredients
- 196.1 g Turkey, Ground, raw
- 159.4 g Rice, white, long-grain, regular, enriched, cooked
- 70.1 g Sweet potato, raw (grated for filler/texture)
- 19.1 g Raisins (for traditional sweet notes)
- 127.5 g Spinach, raw (finely chopped into loaf)
- 8.7 g Oil, olive, salad or cooking
Method
- 01In a large bowl, combine the ground turkey, finely grated sweet potato, chopped spinach, and raisins. Season generously with sea salt, black pepper, and a dash of soy sauce.
- 02Shape the mixture into a tight log using parchment paper, wrapping it securely like a candy wrapper to ensure it holds its shape during steaming.
- 03Place the log in a steamer basket over boiling water. Cover and steam for 40-45 minutes until the loaf is firm to the touch and cooked through.
- 04While the embutido steams, prepare the white rice.
- 05Once finished, remove the parchment paper. Slice the embutido into thick, beautiful rounds, revealing the vibrant speckles of spinach and sweet potato.
- 06Serve the warm slices alongside a generous mound of fluffy steamed white rice. Drizzle with a little extra virgin olive oil if desired for richness, and serve immediately.
