Ingredients
- 36.4 g fava beans
- 2 tsp fresh ginger
- 1.4732 tsp extra virgin olive oil
- 0.5 tsp pomegranate molasses
- 0.25 tsp allspice
- 0.125 tsp salt
Method
- 01Soak the dried fava beans in cool water overnight (8-12 hours), then drain well.
- 02Heat the extra virgin olive oil in a small heavy-bottomed skillet over medium heat until shimmering.
- 03Add the minced fresh ginger and ground allspice to the skillet, sautéing for about 1 minute until fragrant and lightly golden.
- 04Add the soaked fava beans and salt to the skillet. Sauté, stirring frequently, for 8-10 minutes until tender but retaining a slight bite (al dente).
- 05Drizzle the pomegranate molasses over the mixture and toss quickly for 30 seconds to glaze the beans, allowing the natural sugars to caramelize slightly against the heat.
- 06Transfer to a small serving bowl and serve warm, ensuring the beans are fully coated in the spiced oil and syrup.
