Ingredients
  • 36.4 g fava beans
  • 2 tsp fresh ginger
  • 1.4732 tsp extra virgin olive oil
  • 0.5 tsp pomegranate molasses
  • 0.25 tsp allspice
  • 0.125 tsp salt
Method
  1. 01Soak the dried fava beans in cool water overnight (8-12 hours), then drain well.
  2. 02Heat the extra virgin olive oil in a small heavy-bottomed skillet over medium heat until shimmering.
  3. 03Add the minced fresh ginger and ground allspice to the skillet, sautéing for about 1 minute until fragrant and lightly golden.
  4. 04Add the soaked fava beans and salt to the skillet. Sauté, stirring frequently, for 8-10 minutes until tender but retaining a slight bite (al dente).
  5. 05Drizzle the pomegranate molasses over the mixture and toss quickly for 30 seconds to glaze the beans, allowing the natural sugars to caramelize slightly against the heat.
  6. 06Transfer to a small serving bowl and serve warm, ensuring the beans are fully coated in the spiced oil and syrup.
