Ingredients
- 94.2 g Edamame in pods, frozen
- 65.8 g Rice, white, cooked (to balance macros)
Method
- 01Bring a small pot of water to a boil.
- 02Add the frozen edamame pods to the boiling water and steam/blanch for 3-5 minutes until the beans are tender but still retain a slight snap.
- 03Drain thoroughly in a colander, shaking off excess water.
- 04While still piping hot, transfer to a serving bowl.
- 05Toss immediately with a pinch of sea salt and a light drizzle of mirin or a touch of shio-koji to provide the umami depth and slight sweetness.
- 06Serve alongside the small portion of warm white rice to round out the snack.
- 07Garnish with toasted sesame seeds for a subtle nutty aroma and crackle. Serve immediately while the pods are warm and fragrant.
