Ingredients
  • 176.7 g Ground Turkey
  • 127.4 g White long-grain rice, cooked
  • 36.1 g Sweet potato, diced
  • 55.4 g Bell pepper, green, finely diced
  • 22.1 g Raisins (for sweetness/sugar target)
  • 18.6 g Olive oil
Method
  1. 01In a mixing bowl, combine the ground turkey, finely diced green bell pepper, and half the raisins.
  2. 02Season generously with sea salt, black pepper, and a dash of soy sauce.
  3. 03Form the mixture into a tight, cylindrical log and wrap it securely in aluminum foil, twisting the ends like a candy wrapper.
  4. 04Steam the embutido log over boiling water for 30-35 minutes until firm to the touch and cooked through.
  5. 05While steaming, sauté the diced sweet potatoes in olive oil until tender and lightly caramelized.
  6. 06Serve the sliced embutido over a bed of warm white rice, topped with the sautéed sweet potatoes and the remaining raisins for an authentic sweet-savory profile.
  7. 07The dish should smell of caramelized sugars and savory aromatics.
  8. 08Plate with a side of steamed greens if desired for extra texture.
